The German Society for Mammalian Biology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Säugetierkunde e.V.) announces the full or partial funding of innovative projects which, in compliance with the constitution of the society, promote research on and/or conservation of mammals. Applicants must be members of the DGS.
The amount applied for should not exceed 10,000,- € (if it does, please contact the DGS before you apply). Quality and prospects of the proposals are the only criteria.
Compliance with the society's statutes is required. The DGS board decides about the distribution of the funds after reviewing all submitted proposals.
Grant recipients (project leaders) are expected to present their results at a future annual DGS meeting personally (talk or poster).

The German Society for Mammalian Biology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Säugetierkunde e.V.) is pleased to announce the full funding for travel grants to the 99th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Mammalian Biology, which will take place in Berlin from 21 to 25 September 2026.
Applicants are invited for the Travel Grant for New Investigators (open to Master’s students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers).
The grant covers travel expenses, including conference registration, accommodation, and airfare for the 99th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Mammalian Biology in Berlin. Eligible candidates must submit an abstract to the 2026 Annual Meeting in Berlin, be members of the DGS and reside in a low- or middle-income country according to the World Bank classification.
Applications should include a CV, a travel cost estimate and details of the project to be presented at the conference, either as a talk or a poster.

Three grants will be granted for the 2026 Annual Meeting in Berlin.
